Yes, I'm mangled the image...sorry! http://mirusmayhem.com/index/

We've updated! At last! I'm now classified as an "Editor" for clarity's sake, though I'm still a jack-of-all-trades. And
is one of the releases for the new look *is proud*

....erm...so in fact I haven't done too much. How disappointing.

Mirusmayhem is on hiatus at the moment. Arigatomina is busy as usual (but not that busy if you know what I mean). The Other White Haired Prodigy is on hiatus at the moment. I've finished watching season 1 of Bones at last, but I've still to watch Mirage of Blaze properly, as well as Code Geass, Monochrome Factor, and Supernatural from about somewhere in season 2 onwards.

Jay Chou is coming...I'm so not going to be doing much of my online stuff for a while. Possibly. Who knows. I might surprise myself.

Random updates and thoughts

I was thinking the other day about my online life/timeline. I'd have to say the first place I frequented was years ago, and all because of Boba Fett, hehe. Which led me to the Holocron, which is Mebourne-based (whee!). Both have changed names and gone through various updates.

Somehow I ended up at Fanspot, which also went through many updates and name changes, and I'm still a member there, though I haven't posted in ages. Many oldies like me from when the place first started are on facebook now, anyway, which is nice that I haven't completely lost touch with them.

I was away from "regular" online stuff for a few years, then I came back with a vengeance - relatively speaking. I now frequent one place only, really - aarinfantasy. I also go to http://arigatomina.com/ and http://mirusmayhem.com/ regularly because I do not-for-profit work there for other fans. Sometimes I'm at http://fanfiction.net/ and occasionally at http://deviantart.com/ and I have bothered to register (and pay, silly me) for a MU and MF account.

I'm still writing, doing images and doujinshi, and in the middle of preparing another contest, and also downloading my next batch of something to watch. I got into Silver Chaos recently, but have just about exhausted it already, and am looking for more BL games lol. The last series I watched was Gakuen Heaven which I enjoyed (a great deal because of Sakurai Takahiro's and Suzumura Kenichi's involvement lol).

I am trying to figure out how to get Crisis Core for PC without using torrents, or if I can buy a backwards compatible PS3 and the CCFFVII and other FFVII games somewhere...because Zack is bloody awesome. And like so many of my favourite characters, he dies as well *siiiiigh*

- write a Tyki x activeuke!Allen fic for a certain reviewer

- write to Tsuneko - and post it

Control

aka a big rant followed by a semi half-hearted attempt at something serious.

My featured pet hate for today is lateness.

I hate it when things are late with no explanation, if not an apology, forthcoming. I hate being late. I hate being late when it's through no fault of my own. Wednesday morning example. Walking up my street I watched the late 07:31 bus pass its stop around 07:38. The next bus, the 07:41 didn't come until 07:56. Nevermind how the bus' lateness meant more people waiting at the following bus stops and that resulting in even longer delays as they got on and paid their fare, it was well past 08:17 by the time we were nearly onto Terry Road. I'd already missed three connecting trains that would have had me arrive in time to catch my next connecting train.

And as an aside, while I was trying to make my way to the platform, I had to deal with very irritating human traffic who wouldn't stick to the correct side of the tunnel or walkway or staircase, or didn't watch where they were going because they were busily looking at their phones - two other pet hates which I might rant on about another time. I mean for crying out loud people, it's peak hour! Get with it!

And bad enough as it was, waiting for my final train on the platform, I hear that all tarins on that platform are delayed...most servies by about 6 minutes, or so they said, but my particular train which was meant to come at 09:10 was delayed by approximately 14 minutes. Or so they said. Bollocks.

I hate how the trains were late. And that I was late as a result. I hate that I had no control of the situation. Just like I don't really have control over crowds of commuters, and those generally in the minority who are inconsiderate of other commuters and peoples' personal spaces, even adjusting for crowded situations. I hate how I can't make everyone who stinks of cigarette smoke and booze get into a separate carriage.

I have discovered I really don't like not having control. Or perhaps more accurately, I would like to have more power than I have, or ever thought I'd want.

Power and control were the farthest things from my thoughts and wants and desires even just a year ago. I wonder what has changed?

We feel we are lacking in control - aka power - in times such as these, with the current economic climate on the minds of many. It is a scientific fact that humans have a tendency to turn towards religion, superstition and the supernatural when they lack control of their lives. As seen in history, such times mean business is good for psychics, and the faithful swell in numbers.

Not surprisingly, I was late for work. But I got over it pretty quick once I was there. Plenty of people are late for work because of public transport. And staff have been late for work plenty of times before with far less valid excuses, and will in the future. I got over my anger and annoyance very quickly indeed.

Perhaps I really (still) don't care so much for power and control?

I just hate lateness.

Almost isn't quite good enough

Aside from scraping old paint off walls, I'm so bloody busy these days.

But I have been entertaining the idea of continuing with my Bleach x Naruto crossover, and even starting another (D.Gray-man and, erm, something else). When will I get around to it?

In other news, a recent conversation with two friends of mine, both younger than me, has made me question the relationship with a certain someone who I've known since primary school. Their advice is consistent with what others have said, and what I'd like to do.

Why am I so bloody nice and forgiving to this person? I hate it. Links back to the learning to say no that JD was talking about in her blog.
